Manakas - A Trading Tradition

Enthusiasm for breathtaking furs - that was the starting point for the Manakas Company’s long tradition of trading furs. And it is an enthusiasm that has continued to this day, four generations later, and that has its roots in the picturesque town of Siatista, in northern Greece.

The German company Manakas dates back to 1954, when Dimitrios Manakas founded the company after arriving in Frankfurt. The pulsating Main metropolis remains the headquarters for both the family and the company to this day.

The fur-trading company is currently under the successful management of Johannes Manakas, representing the fourth generation of his family. Since taking over management of the company in 1988, he has established Manakas as a globally active company with several foreign subsidiaries.

The Manakas name compels: Johannes Manakas sits on the executive board of the Federation of German Wholesale and Foreign Trade and is chairman of the German Fur Producers.
